THE SPICY SISTERS SLUMBER PARTY (DVD)

By Eric Campos | June 2, 2005

There’s a meeting in the ladies room…okay…so this ladies room is actually a hotel room, but it’s about to be filled with plenty o’ lady talk all the same and the ladies are all scantily clad for those out there who have problems processing the spoken word when a female is visible. There’s a little something for everyone here – the eavesdroppers, the voyeurs and especially the thinkers, so you may as well pull your pants up now, captain, because the only thing you’ll be stroking here is your chin as you witness this very special slumber party.

“The Spicy Sisters Slumber Party” gathers several of indie horror’s finest actresses in a hotel room and lets them discuss the state of women in film, exploitation and the future of women in horror and they do it all in their PJs. Amy Lynn Best, Stacy Bartlebaugh-Gmys, Robyn Griggs, Jasi Cotton Lanier, Ryli Morgan and Lilith Stabs lay it down on what it’s like being a woman in the industry and how they would like to see their roles change. Fortunately, things are looking better every day.

And yes, for those just desperate for some naughtiness, there’s a little bonus feature on this DVD titled “Truth or Dare” that’ll have ya learnin’ about some of your favorite actresses’ most intimate secrets in no time.

So, I’m going to go for the bullshit critic line here by saying that, “This is one spicy slumber party you wouldn’t want to sleep through.” But in all seriousness, if you’re a female and are looking to get into the business, then “The Spicy Sisters Slumber Party” is required viewing. It’s not going to show you all of the tricks of the trade, nor will it lead you to a pot of gold, but it will reinforce your confidence in yourself that many will try to tear down along your way to molding your career. And, for those who are fans of these talented ladies, this is an excellent opportunity to get to know them a little better…you goddamn stalkers!
