THE JON ALEY SHOW

By Doug Brunell | April 22, 2008

“The Jon Aley Show” consists of short skits, some of which are kind of funny (the one called “Fight Club Practice” comes to mind), while others fail to perform (like the shorter version of Aley’s dismal short film, “Gravitational Gus”). Part of the problem is that a little Aley goes a long way, and I can’t tell if his creepy gaze is part of his characters or part of his personality.

Your enjoyment of this short movie will rest solely on your feelings about Aley. If you love him, this will be like a big Aley cheesecake topped with strawberries. If you hate him, this will make you want to pluck out your eyes and shove nails in your ears. If you’re like me and are fairly ambivalent, this will get a few chuckles from you, but ultimately will leave you shaking your head in disbelief… and not in a good way.
