THE BOOTLEG FILES: “THE IMMORTAL STORY”

By Phil Hall | January 30, 2004

BOOTLEG FILES 017: “The Immortal Story” (Orson Welles’ 1968 made-for-French-TV feature).

LAST SEEN: A rare one-time screening is slated for April at New York’s Film Forum as part of an Orson Welles retrospective.

AMERICAN HOME VIDEO: None.

REASON FOR DISAPPEARANCE: Uncertain, although several of Welles’ films have been stuck in legal limbo for endless years.

CHANCES OF SEEING A HOME VIDEO/DVD RELEASE: Possible, especially with an Italian DVD release last year.

BOOTLEG OPPORTUNITIES: Plentiful, but the quality of most of these bootlegs leaves something to be desired.

The story continues in part two of THE BOOTLEG FILES: “THE IMMORTAL STORY”>>>
