By Film Threat Staff | April 15, 2003

The 5th annual Method Fest Independent Film Festival has announced Tania Verafield as the winner of the first Method Fest Film Actor competition. Tania wowed the judges with her performance of a monologue from Wet Hot American Summer. She will be awarded at the Method Fest Awards Cermony on Friday April 18th at The Holiday Inn in Downtown Burbank. As the winner of the competition, Tania will receive: five hundred bucks, consultations with Glen Rigberg of personal management firm Rigberg Roberts Entertainment and Gary Zickerbroad, President of the Casting Society of America, a coaching session with acting teacher Joanne Baron, two VIP six-month memberships at the world famous Powerhouse Gym, a hhoto shoot with Hollywood photographer Ron Sorensen, and meetings with Hollywood
director Henry Jaglom, Casting Agent Sandi Logan of Liberman/Patton Casting and agent Andrew Ruf of Paradigm.
Out of 200 contestants, 10 local actors were chosen as finalists to compete on April 12th, during the Method Fest Independent Film festival in Downtown Burbank. Each applicant came prepared to perform their memorized monologue from a theatrically released film. The competition was then cut down to four finalists (Edward King III, Lynda Reynoso, Michael John Galvin and the winner Tania Verafield.) Those four finalists then each performed a scene from “Kramer Vs. Kramer.”
Participating judges included William Morris Agents Julissa Garcia and Jennifer Craig, actor Peter MacNicol, and Sandra Change of Industry Entertainment.
