RESFEST 2000

The Resfest 2000 4th Annual Digital Film Festival, which includes international dates in London, Montreal, Tokyo, Osaka and Seoul, kicks-off in San Francisco on Thursday, September 7. Resfest promotes innovative films from filmmakers empowered by digital production tools. The longest running digital film festival, Resfest showcases feature films, shorts, music videos, panel discussions, and hands-on demos of digital filmmaking tools.
This year marks the launch of Net Cinema 2000, a special two-day conference of exclusive screenings, panel discussions and seminars devoted to the topics of content creation and distribution over the web. Net Cinema 2000 will be held during the Los Angeles festival dates, November 1 – 5, and participants will be announced under separate cover.
RMG (res.com) produces the acclaimed national publication, RES: The Magazine of Digital Filmmaking and the Resfest Digital Film Festival. The festival and magazine were among the first to showcase the work of filmmaker Spike Jonze, music video director Chris Cunningham, ILM effects guru John Knoll,design collective Tomato, guerilla videomakers EBN, and the Dogma 95 group led by Lars von Trier. Speakers at Resfest have included filmmaker Mike Figgis, film title designer Kyle Cooper, visual effects artist Stu Maschwitz(formerly of ILM), designer Rebeca Mendez and music video director Roman Coppola.
