KUBOA

“Kuboa” is billed as the “life and times of an ordinary Norwegian
ghost.” That certainly sums it up, as the “ghost” (Sandra Kelberlau) wanders around, watches people, cleans paintings and thinks of her husband, who may or may not be real. That’s it.

While technically a sound film, it really shoots itself in the foot
by not doing much beyond letting the woman babble about what she does all day. If she had something worthwhile she was doing, or some kind of strange philosophy she could throw our way, it would make for a far more interesting film. Instead, it is a dull woman (or a real “ghost” if you take the film too literally) doing dull things as she moves farther and farther away from reality. And
if you think that sounds dull, you’re right.
