From [ October 13th to the 31st, ] the IFC (Independent Film Channel) will air an exclusive online festival for fans of some of the most infamous, and frightening, horror films ever. The Indie Screams Film Festival is a gut-spilling, bloody celebration of the movies Hollywood studios snubbed because they didn’t have the stomach.
As a special extension of this Festival, the IFC has created an original documentary entitled “The American Nightmare”. The show examines the social context and industry outsider role of horror film through interviews with the greats, including Craven, Cronenberg, and Romero. Plus, it airs on the fittingly chilling [ Friday, October 13th at 10PM ET. ]
