By Film Threat Staff | February 10, 2021

On Saturday, February 20th at 7:30pm at the First American Financial Corporation campus, the Frida Cinema is teaming up with Film Threat for a special 20th Anniversary screening of Donnie Darko. Described by director Richard Kelly as “The Catcher in the Rye as told by Philip K. Dick”, Donnie Darko stars Jake and Maggie Gyllenhaal, Patrick Swayze, Drew Barrymore, Mary McDonnell, Katharine Ross and Noah Wyle.

Before Stranger Things combined science fiction, Spielbergian touches and ‘80s nostalgia to much acclaim, Richard Kelly set the high-water mark with this debut feature. Initially beset with distribution problems, it would slowly find its audience and emerge as arguably the first cult classic of the new millennium.

The First American Financial Corporation is located at 1 First American Way, Santa Ana CA 92707. Gates open at 5:30pm, and Donnie Darko begins at 7:30pm. Gates open at 5:30PM and you can get more info on the Frida Cinema website right here.
