As awards season gets into high gear, we want to remind you to save the date for the 7th annual Award This! on Saturday, January 31st, 2026! The annual event presented by Film Threat will take place at non-profit arthouse theater the Frida Cinema and will honor the best and brightest in independent film. Film Threat’s Award This! has become an industry staple celebrating the best in truly independent cinema to kick off awards season – indie style. The nominating board of Award This! is comprised of the staff of Film Threat’s editors and critics which number 30+ worldwide along with an advisory board of media figures and independent film luminaries.
It’s the only movie awards show where the public can get a seat, Award This! tickets are now on sale! Join Film Threat at the Frida Cinema for a fundraiser supporting independent theaters! Film Threat’s Award This! is an event with a mission — to champion independent films across diverse categories. Film Threat recognizes these indie films each year with a ceremony hosted by actors, comedians and critics. Walk the red carpet, join us for free drinks and the awards presentation itself.
