Whether in print or online, the magazine look and style is coming back, and I got an email this morning about a special edition magazine about short films creating by the European Short Film Centre specifically for the the 2011 Cannes Film Festival. From the email:
On the occasion of the Festival de Cannes we issued a special online magazine about the short film industry. The PDF magazine titled “World of Shorts – The Cannes 2011 Special Edition” includes interviews with directors from the Short Film Competition and from the Cinéfondation selection, offers some articles about the short film industry and a couple of interviews with industry players like Dimitra Karya (artistic director for Cinéfondation) or Alice Kharoubi (project manager of the Short Film Corner). Of course the magazine is free of charge and our goal with it is to promote the most of the times unfortunately neglected short film segment of the film industry.
The PDF magazine is available here: http://daazo.com/wosh_cannes

And if you’d rather just start reading immediately, the magazine is available for easy embed, which I have done below. Enjoy!
There is another silent film other than The Artist at Cannes playing at the SFC called The Bridge directed by Justin Possenti. I found it simply delightful. I guess the silents are making a comeback 🙂
