What you can catch exclusively on Film Threat is the ongoing investigation into the “Cloverfield” JJ Abrams project that has managed to stir quite a hoopla among movie-goers at this point in time.

With the help of some resources, I’ll be identifying websites, and hope to unfold the recurring mystery involving JJ Abrams, and the upcoming film “Cloverfield,” which has yet to be determined as the title.

Stay underground, they say.
Ethan Haas was wrong, they insist.

They tried their best to contain it, but the word is out, and now everyone has seen the invasion taking place on New York City.

A few observations:

  1. The large object in the end is not a truck as I originally deduced, but actually the head of the Statue of Liberty.
  2. Whatever has seized the city has the ability to launch projectiles that are oddly precise in their destruction.
  3. J.J. Abrams has claimed on Ain’t It Cool that all the websites beyond 1-18-08 are not connected to this film. Elaborate fan sites, or throwing us off the scent?
  4. Ethan Haas may be somewhere in this video. Or nowhere at all.

The mystery continues…

I’ll keep you up to date.

Offer your own theories and reports. Something I missed? Offer help to investigation by e-mailing me, and let me know what’s up. We’re the key, here.

  1. soundman says:

In the trailer as they run from the apartment and hit the street the female shouts out to a man running by: “What is it? Is it running this way? The man states: “I saw it! It’s a Lion! It’s Huge!” At that point you hear a tremendous groan and a hurling sound and explosion as the head of the statue of liberty smashes into a building then comes crashing down onto the street. In the end times story of revelations it talks of a great beast that is like a lion but with bear feat and other ominous features.. Leading to the specutlation that this may be an end time type movie aka armegeddon. And also close to the story that is posted on the Ethan Haas site. The love craft creature is squid like and hardly could possibly resemble any type of lion. More credence to the Lion comment is why would a man describing what he admittedly says he saw, say that something that is quite apparently causing such great havoc is alive! As some people are saying.. No kidding it’s alive. The thing is the man is decribing what he saw.. I saw it… It’s a Lion.. It’s Huge! Now we can move on from there…l

  2. Felix says:

    What do you see JJ?

  3. Mickey says:

I’m not sure where I read this but I am pretty sure that their is a new Godzilla movie in the works. That was the first thing that popped in my head after watching the trailer, then I noticed all of the mystery behind it so I figured I’d mention it. There are also a few references to Japan in the trailer, The creature sounds like a Godzilla type…Maybe the Godzilla thing was a dream but I’m pretty sure it was real. LOOK INTO IT.

  4. JJ says:

Did someone put the pic of the two women (1-18-08 website) in front of a mirror??!

  5. Felix Vasquez Jr. says:

    I’m not sure just yet.

People have dismissed it as him saying “It’s Alive.”

    But I could swear I hear, “It’s a LION!”

Then again, Lion could be an expression for a giant ferocious beast.

  6. Michael Ferraro says:

Man, could a giant lion throw the head of the statue of liberty? Maybe they’re robotic lions.

That would F*****G rule my nuts.

Wait a second, am I… wait, no. This can’t be happening.

  7. Zack Haddad says:

So is it just me or did any of you guys here the guy when they get on the street level right before the Statue of Liberty’s head comes flying? He clearly says “I saw it, its a big LION!” That could be an odd little clue or maybe I am just hearing stuff but you guys should check that part out.

  8. Felix Vasquez Jr. says:

Yep, I made it most of the way through the sphere.

  9. Jeremy Knox says:

On the site I was able to open the sphere. There’s a video message. I also understand that gibberish appearing on the site when you pass the mouse pointer over the right star. It’s an alphabet A to Z.

  10. Felix says:

I owe part of the credit to Mark.

He nurtured my idea, helped me streamline it, and invented the category for the Blogs.

    Mark is the man.

    Thanks, Don.

  11. Don Lewis says:

Felix-Nice legwork on all this stuff.

I love the idea of a movie hitting the big screen free of 18 month build-up with rumors, casting news and set photos. Granted, the movie isn’t due out for another 6 months, but it’s nice that something can sneak into the theaters without a three year build up. Good luck keeping up….don’t forget to sleep and drink plenty of water.

  12. Greg says:

Ethanhaas websites are apparently fake/bogus according to a statement made by Abrams today…
