In “The Eyes of Edward James,” the titular character is undergoing hypnotic regression therapy to relive the events leading up to the murder of his wife by person(s) unknown. Through first-person camera work and voice-over, James and his therapist/hypnotist gradually reconstruct the evening. In it, James comes home early from work to find his wife acting a tad peculiar. Worse, there may be someone in the house with them.
Director Rodrigo Guino sets the scene well, though the constant restarting of the action threatens to become tiresome. And while you might think you see it coming, he throws us a nice little curve that you may not see coming.
