THE AWAKENING OF "NOCTURNE"

By Film Threat Staff | August 22, 2000

Allan Piper, the Boston-based writer and director of the acclaimed indie “Starving Artists” is prepping for his follow-up film, “Nocturne” — a horror movie about a rock band whose music wakes the dead.
“Starving Artists” was about as low-to-no budget as they come. In fact, anyone who contributed even a dollar toward its making got their name included somewhere in the movie! But “Starving Artists” did Piper proud, and played in Boston at the Museum of Fine Arts (swanky) and also at the Harvard Film Archive (very swanky) as well as the festival circuit.
Now “Nocturne” is ready to go, and actually has a small budget. It stars John Saxon of “Nightmare on Elm Street” and Peter Murnik from “JAG”. The film will also feature creature effects by Gabe Bartalos, whose credits include “The Abyss” and “Friday the 13th, Part 6”.
But that’s not all! If you want to help out, shooting begins soon. You can contact Allan Piper at [ allanpiper@aol.com ] and see if “Nocturne” needs you.
