THE ACADEMY DOES IMAX

On [ Tuesday, December 12th ] beginning at [ 7PM ] , the Academy, with help from UCLA, will present the final installment in their diverse Contemporary Documentary Series. The evening of film will take place at the IMAX Theater in Exposition Park in Los Angeles.
First up for the one-night event is “Island of the Sharks” — an in-depth look at the finned inhabitants of the Costa Rican waters that inspired “Treasure Island”. “Olympic Glory” is next on the film roster, and it examines the 1996 Winter Olympics in Nagano with amazing bobsledding and snowboarding footage. Finally, “Wolves” closes out the evening with a look at the facts and fiction that have shaped human perception of the wild animal.
