The Austin Film Society brings on another year of QT V, the Quentin Tarantino Film Festival, from [ August 17th ] through [ August 26th, 2001, ] at the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema, 409 Colorado Street in downtown Austin. Sir Tarantino will be present throughout the festival in the 225-seat venue, which serves food and drink during the show.
QTV brings the man himself into the mix — Tarantino curates the festival from his personal collection and introduces each film. During the festival, the theater becomes Mr. Tarantino’s extended living room, into which he invites devotees to enjoy films from the action, adventure, epic, exploitation and horror genres, not to mention cool sub-genres like “Secret-Agent Films.”
Passes are currently on sale at the Alamo Drafthouse; call [ (512) 476-1320. ] Ten-day passes are $125, and five-day passes (good for ANY five nights) are $75.
