SOUTHERN HAUNTS (DVD)

By Eric Campos | November 12, 2006

In the vein of one of those real-life ghost story shows you see on the Discovery or Travel channels, this “Southern Haunts” DVD presents several tales of ghostly encounters with spirits who have haunted the south since the Civil War. Tales of the infamous Bell Witch are told, who many of you will recall from the snooze inducing “American Nightmare” released to theaters earlier this year. Through interviews and footage of the actual haunted locations, we also hear tales of a real life haunted mansion in Tennessee, a bed & breakfast haunted by the ghost of a little girl, and a house in Kentucky that is supposedly home to over twenty Civil War ghosts.

Thr two episodes presented here are filled with historical facts, as well as haunted legends. It’s a learning experience, as well as a ghostly good time, so if you spend hours watching the various ghost story shows on cable TV, then “Southern Haunts” is something you need to check out. It’s like being in History class with spooks popping out all over the place.
