SOPRANOS MAKE A KILLING AT WOODSTOCK FILM FESTIVAL

By Film Threat Staff | June 25, 2007

Don’t believe the blank screen! Tony Soprano and his cronies are coming to Woodstock, and they aren’t making any graveyard trips. The Woodstock Film Festival will be auctioning “Sopranos” memorabilia that is sure to be an offer you can’t refuse, including a poster signed by cast members. Other items include DVD sets of the entire series, and a Sopranos commemorative book.

The poster along with the rest of the items will be auctioned off as part of the Not So Silent Auction, which is currently taking place online at www.woodstockfilmfestival.com/auction/auction.php

The auction will culminate at the annual Gala for the Woodstock Film Festival and Hudson Valley Film Commission, on Saturday, July 14. Festivities begin at 6:30pm at the Wiltwyck Country Club in Kingston.

“Now more than ever, we are all dying to hold on to the Sopranos,” said Meira Blaustein, Executive Director and Co-Founder of the festival. “We are so happy to be able to provide this kind of exclusive memorabilia to our community.”

The Not So Silent Auction also includes an original “When We Were Kings” movie poster signed by Muhammad Ali, a signed and dedicated WFF poster by artist Peter Max, the Barry Feinstein cover photo of George Harrison’s “All Things Must Pass,” and the Elliott Landy cover photo of Bob Dylan’s “Nashville Skyline” album. Other items include romantic getaways, artwork, jewelry, Broadway tickets, clothing, and memorabilia from many films including “Philadelphia,” “Kill Bill,” “Reservoir Dogs,” “Good Night and Good Luck” and much more.

The eighth annual Woodstock Film Festival takes place October 10-14, 2007. The ‘fiercely independent’ event will include more than 150 films, panels, concerts, and special events that will be featured at venues in Woodstock and the neighboring towns of Rhinebeck, Hunter, and Rosendale. Over the years, the Woodstock Film Festival has established itself as one of the best independent film events in the country by premiering exceptional films, hosting the most talented emerging and established professionals in the movie industry, presenting A-list concerts, parties and panels, and creating stimulating year-round programming.
