SLAMDUNK RETURNS

By Film Threat Staff | January 13, 2002

The Slamdunk Film Festival returns to Park City with cool features and a Spike Lee “The Huey P. Newton Story.” Lee’s film was part of a series of live performance films he is making and it was a big winner at Jamaica. “Newton” captures a performance of Roger G. Smith’s Obie Award winning off-Broadway play of the life and speeches of legendary Black Panther leader Huey P. Newton. Spike may or may not attend, but the premiere of the film is a coup for Slamdunk.
