SHOCK-O-RAMA-A-GO-GO IN LOS ANGELES

By Film Threat Staff | October 25, 2002

Anxiety Films is busy scheduling their second annual “Shock-O-Rama-A-Go-Go,” 24 hour film-a-thon for November 16-17. The festival will take place at the Palace Theater in Los Angeles. Doors will open at 12 noon on Saturday and won’t close until at least 2 am on Monday morning.
Bursting at the seams with celebrities and extravagant perquisites (including a chance to ogle the luscious girls of RUSS MEYER’s sick cinema, including HAJI and RAVEN DE LECROIX), this year’s Shock-O-Rama will be hosted by NEIL THE NAUGHTY ONE, COUNT SMOKULA, and ALICIA: MISTRESS OF THE UNDEAD. Other guests include: STUART GORDON (“From Beyond,” “Re-Animator,” Dagon, etc), RAY DENNIS STECKLER (“The Thrill Killers,” “Rat Fink a BooBoo”), HERSCHELL GORDON LEWIS (“Blood Feast,” “2000 Maniacs”), MICHAEL BERRYMAN (“The Hills Have Eyes”), WILLIAM HELLFIRE (Duck: the Carbine High Massacre, “Caress of the Vampire: Teenage Foot Ghoul A-Go-Go”), CONNIE MASON (Playboy Playmate and star of “Blood Feast”), MINK STOLE (of John Waters fame), STEPHANIE BEATON (The Bagman, “Evil in the Bayou”) and a number of additional surprise guests to shock and astonish you. Saturday night will also feature this year’s hottest B-movie bands, live on stage.
More than thirty films will be presented on two screens. Midnight movie devotees will welcome old favorites such as Faster Pussycat, Kill, Kill, “Vampyros Lesbos,” “Blood Orgy of the She-Devils,” “Nekromantik,” “Blood Feast,” “Attack of the 50-Foot Woman,” and “I Spit On Your Grave.”
LA Weekly called last year’s Shock-O-Rama a “grueling gross-a-thon” that “didn’t disappoint, especially when the overnighters, sipping alcohol out of colostomy bags, began to talk to the screen a la ‘Mystery Science Theater 3000’.”
