SAN DIEGO FILM FESTIVAL ANNOUNCES FULL FILM SCHEDULE

More than 70 films will be featured during the San Diego Film Festival, September 18-22. Of the more than 70 screenings, there will be 31 features, 6 documentaries and 33 shorts. More than 10 films will highlight the talents of hometown San Diego filmmakers. These films include:
“Roger Dodger”, a dark comedy set against the bright lights of Manhattan- a witty, urbane look at the modern male ego at war in the singles scene trenches. This film stars Campbell Scott, Jesse Eisenberg, Isabella Rossellini, Elizabeth Berkley and Jennifer Beals and marks the directorial debut for Dylan Kidd. Three members of the cast, as well as the director will be on-hand for the post-screening Q&A.
“The Nazi”, a short film starring veteran character actor and Academy-Award nominee James Cromwell. This compelling drama tells the story of a woman, dying of Leukemia, who makes a pilgrimage to a prison in Israel to meet the Nazi war criminal who worked in the concentration camp where her grandmother was murdered. Director, Rod Lurie and star, James Cromwell, will be available for a Q&A following the film’s screening.
“Falling in Love in Pongo Ponga”, features the directorial debut for award winning actor, James Woods. A Hollywood tale that illuminates the silver screen with vibrant insight into the persona of a beautiful diva and her behind-the-scenes antics on a Hollywood film shoot. Woods will be on-hand for a special Q & A immediately following the film’s screening.
“The Month of August”, starring Mackenzie Astin, is an award winning, feature-length film shot on location in San Diego by local filmmakers. The cast and crew will be available for a Q&A following the film’s screening.
“Standard Time”, a West Coast Premiere, stars Andrew McCarthy, Isabel Rose and Cameron Bancroft. In a place where dreams and reality intersect, a beautiful cabaret singer must choose between the luxuries of one man, and the music of another. The cast and director, Robert Cary, will be available for a Q&A following the film’s screening.
“Pop & Me”, an Academy-Award semi-finalist for Best Documentary, is a gorgeous travelogue of an amazing father-son journey around the world, exploring the joys and complexities of human relationships like never before. Director, Chris Roe, will be available for a Q&A following the film’s screening.
“Now You Know”, a World Premier and directorial debut for Jeff Anderson, stars Jeremy Sisto, Rashida Jones, Jeff Anderson, Todd Babcock, Paget Brewster and Kevin Smith, in a hilarious story about love, true friends, old friends and the basic insanity of relationships. The eight-member cast and director will be available for a Q&A following the film’s screening.
