“RICK & STEVE” HELP KICK OFF OUTFEST

By Film Threat Staff | July 9, 2002

Festival favorite Rick & Steve: The Happiest Gay Couple In All The World will help kick off Outfest on July 11th by screening alongside five other short films as a part of Outfest’s 20th Anniversary Opening Night Gala Event – “An Evening Of Sex, Love And Life.” Outfest programmers describe the program saying, “the short films represent the joyous, delightful and visionary work that blazed our trails and helped define this community’s artistic heritage. Outrageous, moving tales of gay and lesbian sex, love and life.”

This will be the third Outfest screening of Rick & Steve, a film revealing that Legos can be gay too. It won the Audience Award at its first Outfest screening and has since gone on to screen at over 200 film festivals, including Sundance.

Amongst the celebrity presenters will be Margaret Cho when the event begins Thursday, July 11 at 6:30 PM in Los Angeles’ historic Orpheum Theatre. Following the screening will be an after party with a ferris wheel and open bar hosted by Absolut Vodka as well as food from over 20 of LA’s hottest restaurants. There’s a recipe for a lot of puking gay people if I’ve ever heard of one.
