If you’re one of the few people on the Earth that have yet to see a Zellner Brothers spectacular picture show, you don’t know what you are missing. Their irreverent humor is topped only by their enormous imaginations, as they seem to never run out of working ideas. Their newest short, Redemptitude, is a film about a preacher (David Zellner) journeying into the deep Australian Outback to try and save an injured and faithless man (Nathan Zellner) confined to a wheelchair. The man is determined to keep the preacher away but no matter how much he warns (or shoots) him, the work of God must be completed.
It may sound like serious business, actually it is serious business, but the Brothers have a unique gift of throwing in moments of absolute hilarity just often enough to keep the film going while not over doing it at the same time. Their performances perfectly compliment the tone of the piece, making Redemptitude another fine addition to the ever expanding Zellner catalog.
