By Film Threat Staff | December 3, 2001

New Line Cinema has acquired the feature film rights to Genndy Tartakovsky’s Cartoon Network series “Samurai Jack.” Brett Ratner (“Rush Hour,” “Family Man”) is developing the story of a great warrior displaced to the distant future by an evil shape-shifting wizard.
Ratner is currently in pre-production on the “Silence of the Lambs” prequel “Red Dragon,” starring Anthony Hopkins, Emily Watson, Harvey Keitel, Philip Seymour Hoffman, and Mary Louise-Parker.
