NOW THAT THE KING’S DEAD, LET’S NOT FORGET “CAPTAIN EO”

By Film Threat Staff | September 3, 2009

An odd moment in pop history was when Michael Jackson converged with George Lucas (as writer/producer) and Coppola (as director) in 1986 to produce a strange little film called “Captain EO.” Basically an extend music video for MJ featuring 3D and special effects, the film played at Disney theme parks from the late 80s to the early 90s. It’s said to return to Disneyland in 2010, but for now this little oddity lives on virally. Did someone say “Space Pirates”? Ugh.
