NODANCE ANNOUNCES 2003 WINNERS

Nodance, the world’s first DVD-projected film festival, announced its winning films January 22nd. Nodance celebrates the best in alternative digital film.
Making a surprise appearance at the awards ceremony, actress Salma Hayek presented the Free Spirit Award to director Mike Figgis (who she worked with in both “Hotel” and “Time Code.” Both films were presented at the festival as a part of a retrospective on Figgis’ career.)
Top winners at the festival were: “Outpatient” directed by Alec Carlin won the Grand Jury Award for Best Feature, “Our House” directed by Sevan Matossian won the Grand Jury Award for Best Documentary. Audience award winners were “The War Effort” directed by Bob Cesca for Favorite Feature and “The 7th Man” directed by Jason Liggett for Favorite Short.
Top winners for short films included; “Shadowboxer” directed by Vilka Tzouras and “Evelyn” directed by Brad Peyton. The Golden Orbs Award for Best Marketing went to “Our House” and “The War Effort.”
Presenting the awards were festival sponsor and actor Forest Whitaker as well as festival director James Boyd. This marked the sixth year for the successful Park City festival.
