NO NODANCE MAKES ROOM FOR THE FREEDOM CINEMA FESTIVAL IN PARK CITY Image

With NoDance moving their event to Los Angeles in the spring that leaves room for a brand new festival to hit Main Street in Park City, running concurrently with the Sundance Film Festival. The Freedom Cinema Festival is devoted exclusively to film and video projects that examine, promote, embrace or embody cultural, economic, personal or political freedom.
Located in the former home of NoDance in the Main Street Mall, the fest is sponsored by Lost Film Festival, Earthfilms, Bullfrog Films, Equal Exchange, The ACLU of Utah, The Ukiah Organic Brewery, Behind the Scenes Productions and the epic all star mockumentary “The Making of Invasion of the Freedom Snatchers.”

This first annual event features an activist screening series, expert panel discussions on media and democracy, humor and politics, activist filmmaking, police violence against the independent media, self-distribution and more.

The days will be filled with documentaries, features and shorts, fiction, comedy, animation and more, fueled by an Organic fair trade coffee tea and hot chocolate cafe from Equal Exchange. And the evenings will be filled with private after hours parties featuring Organic microbrewed beer from Ukiah Brewing Company.
