MARILYN LIVES

By Film Threat Staff | March 8, 2000

On any day of the week you can pick up Marilyn Monroe souvenirs at the Hollywood Blvd. Stores around it, but for only four days (April 26-30), The Egyptian Theater will be paying tribute to the icon on the screen. “Marilyn Monroe: Actress & Icon” will feature nine Monroe movies over four nights, culminating with a seminar called “Marilyn Monroe and the Culture of Celebrity,” featuring author Joyce Carol Oates (who’s recent “Blonde” looks at the life and myth of Monroe), Leonard Maltin and other guests.
Films being screened include: “Niagara,” “River of No Return,” “There’s No Business Like Show Business”, “Bus Stop,” “Gentlemen Prefer Blondes,” “How To Marry A Millionaire,” “The Misfits,” “Let’s Make Love” and “Some Like It Hot.”
Admission to the seminar is free. Tickets available on a first-come, first-served basis at the box office the day of the event.
