LAEMMLE'S WORLD CINEMA 2000 Image

Laemmle Theatres’ World Cinema 2000 is a collection of outstanding foreign films from the last decade — many of which have been nearly impossible to see until now. Starting September 9th, the series will run Saturday and Sunday mornings at the [ Monica 4-Plex in Santa Monica ] , and then move east to the [ Sunset 5 in West Hollywood ] and the [ Playhouse 7 in Pasadena ] on the subsequent weekend mornings. Screenings in Santa Monica and Pasadena will begin at 11 AM, and at 10AM in West Hollywood.
Features included in this unique assortment of foreign film’s finest include “Fever Pitch,” a U.K.-based production about life and football (that’s soccer to Americans) which was penned by “High Fidelity” scribe Nick Hornby. Also featured are Cuba’s 1998 offering “Life is to Whistle” and “The Most Terrible Time in my Life,” which hails from Japan.
