JOE DANTE? I REMEMBER THAT DUDE!

By Film Threat Staff | December 1, 2005

After nearly ten years of directing pseudo-scary kids flicks, director Joe Dante is finally getting back down to some horror! In an interview with The Village Voice, the man behind “Gremlins” and “The ‘burbs” talks about his new politically tinged film “Homecoming,” which is part of Showtime’s “Masters of Horror” series. We’ll let you read it for yourself, but the movie sounds one part cool and one part lame. For the cool part, one word: zombies. Not so cool: the film has a “political message” and a pretty pedantic and obvious lefty view of the Bush Administration and his supporters at that. Without spoiling too much, apparently Dante feels that if you voted for Bush, you are really a Z_ _ _ _ I E. Har dee har, so witty. We’re all for Bush bashing, but at least make it clever….and please, don’t feed him after Midnight. Read the full story at The Village Voice>>>
