GET YOUR "INTERVIEW" ON IN DECEMBER

By Admin | October 8, 2007

On December 11, 2007, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will release “Interview” on DVD. The film follows a hard-bitten journalist, played by Steve Buscemi (“Fargo,” “Reservoir Dogs”), who is assigned to profile a young actress (Sienna Miller: “Layer Cake,” “Factory Girl”). Buscemi also wrote and directed “Interview.” This Sony Pictures Classics film will arrive on DVD for a SRP of $24.96.

Interview is based on a film by Dutch filmmaker Theo Van Gogh who was murdered in 2004. Before his death, he had planned to remake three of his films in English and set them in New York City. His longtime partners, Gijs van de Westelaken and Bruce Weiss, decided to honor his memory by enlisting American directors to collaborate on the films with members of Van Gogh’s original film crew. Steve Buscemi was the first to commit to the project and he chose to remake “Interview.” In his words, “I was moved by the producers’ commitment to Theo Van Gogh, and intrigued with the idea of carrying out his vision, but I never would have taken on the film if it didn’t capture my own interest as a filmmaker.”

Special features on the “Interview” DVD will include director’s commentary, a making-of featurette and a “Based on a Film by Theo Van Gogh” featurette.
