Sigh. Some people just can’t help but put their foot in their….mouth over and over and over again. Richard Gere attended an AIDS awareness event in New Dehli with popular Bollywood actress, Shilpa Shetty. During the press conference Gere figured that everyone loves to see him being amorous so he placed a kiss on Shetty’s hand, then both cheeks…then he grabbed her, dipped her and laid one on her cheek again.
From there it somehow got worse as in India, public displays of sex and affection are considered taboo. Frigging brilliant, Gere. As if enough countries don’t hate us. Apparently “in Mumbai, members of the right-wing Hindu nationalist group Shiv Sena beat burning effigies of Gere with sticks and set fire to glamorous shots of Shetty.” If anyone has pics or video of the Gere effigies being burned….kick down!!!
