FRACTURED FAIRY TALE: TERI WEIGEL TALKS

By Chris Parcellin | September 3, 2002

Born in 1962, Teri Weigel started life as an average girl growing up in Deerfield Beach, Florida. She says her childhood was “fairy-tale like. I grew up with seventeen cousins on the same block. (It was) lots of fun.” But despite 12 years of strict Catholic schooling and being a self-described “good girl”, Weigel wasn’t quite like the other kids. As a young teen she was already modeling for clients such as Saks Fifth Avenue and “Seventeen” magazine. And even found time to win a local beauty contest in 1979. The fairy-tale continued when lingerie shots of Weigel caught the eye of Playboy magazine honchos.

After making an appearance on the magazine’s cover, she got the full treatment in April, 1986 with a nude “Playmate of the Month” layout. These were good times for Weigel. While she was not selected as “Playmate of the Year” by the magazine, she continued to appear in pictorials and videos for them, as well as minor roles in films and on television. “Being a playmate was one thing I was proud of,” says Weigel. Some reports during this time linked her with KIss guitarist Paul Stanley and Prince Albert of Monaco.
