FORGET X-MEN, HERE COME THE SPECIALS

By Film Threat Staff | May 21, 2000

“The Specials,” voted as America’s seventh greatest superhero team, have launched their official website. Devoted to the history and exploits of the “Specials,” Specials HQ (www.thespecials-movie.com), will provide a way for fans of this amazing supergroup of professional do-gooders to reach their favorite heroes from around the globe.
Designed by longtime Specials team members, Mr. Smart, the self-proclaimed smartest man in the world, and Minute Man, who can shrink in size at will, the site will provide exclusive video and biographical information about the team and its enemies. The Strobe, leader of the Specials, couldn’t be more excited. “As we enter a new millennia, I am pleased that the Specials web site will provide a home in the future for our millions of fans throughout the galaxy keeping kids off the streets, in front of their computers and away from those porn sites with pictures of naked women.”
Specials HQ includes an exclusive preview of the first motion picture chronicling the exploits of “The Specials” which will be released theatrically from Regent Entertainment this September. The film was written by James Gunn (Warner Bros. Scooby-Doo, Spy Vs. Spy), directed by Craig Mazin, and produced by Dan Bates, Mark A. Altman and Rick Mischel for Mindfire Entertainment, the producers of the award winning “Free Enterprise,” in association with Brillstein-Grey Entertainment. Swoop on over to this amazing indie film web site.
