FLASHBACK TO THE DRIVE-IN!

By Film Threat Staff | July 13, 2005

Many generations have fond and nostalgic memories of attending a drive-in theatre. Despite their dwindling number, the drive-in theatre is neither gone nor forgotten!

Flashback Weekend will host a weekend-long tribute to the Drive-In Theatre July 29-31, 2005. Convention activities will be held at the Crowne Plaza Chicago O’Hare in Rosemont, IL. Once again, the hotel’s west parking lot will be transformed into the suburb’s newest drive-in!

This nostalgic outdoor recreation of the drive-in will feature not only 35mm screenings of classic and premiere showings of horror films, but timeless, vintage trailers, live celebrity introductions, and a fantastic concession stand!

Showing at the Drive-In on our HUGE 20′ x 40′ screen will be:

A 35mm Chicago premiere screening of “THE MAN WITH THE SCREAMING BRAIN”. Bruce Campbell stars and directs and will also be on hand to introduce the film.
A remastered 35mm print of the original classic, Sam Raimi’s “THE EVIL DEAD”. Bruce Campbell, The Ladies of the Evil Dead, Rich Demanicor (“SCOTTY”), and special effects master Tom Sullivan will be on hand to introduce the showing.
A 35mm print of John Carpenter’s 1980 classic “John Carpenter’s “THE FOG”. The presentation will be introduced by Adrienne Barbeau, Tom Atkins, Charles Cyphers, and Nancy Loomis.
A 35mm retrospective screening of Rob Zombie’s “HOUSE OF 1,000 CORPSES”. On hand to introduce the screening will be Bill Moseley, Sid Haig, and Matt McGrory.
