FINGERING TOM: A TOM GREEN INTERVIEW

By Heather Wadowski | September 13, 2000

Tom Green. The name alone sends shivers down many adults’ spines. He is insane, he is crazy — he jacks off horses and drinks milk from a cow’s utter. So how is it that this adult who lived in his parent’s basement just a few years ago managed to become one of Hollywood’s most infamous comedians? What makes him so irresistible to his fans, and especially to his newly wed wife Drew Barrymore? The answer: he’s just like everyone else.

When I sat down recently to talk with Green about his experiences in his new film Freddy Got Fingered at the Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills, Green was abnormally calm and collected since there were no cameras in sight. In fact, despite the fact that I have always been a fans of Green’s, I found myself developing this newfound respect for him since finally I knew that it was all an act. Sure when there is a camera in front of Green he can make the topic of cancer seem humorous, but when that recording light turns off, Green is just your average, intelligent comic genius.

In Freddy Got Fingered Green takes over the film world, writing, directing and starring in his first feature length film. For a film that is totally and completely Tom Green, one would expect the movie to be filled with disgusting gags and toilet humor. What one may be surprised to find in the film, however, is a bit of heart as well. When I talked to Green, he was more than happy to clarify what exactly his film is and cast aside any rumors that the film is based on his own life.

Get inside the very guts of Green to see what makes this sick mind tick and read FINGERING TOM: A TOM GREEN INTERVIEW (part 2) >>>
