June
“Kung Fu Panda”
Jack Black voices a Kung Fu Panda. Really, it’s all right there on the poster and you either want to see that, or you don’t. Kids everywhere will want to see it for sure.
“Miss Conception”
Another movie where pregnancy is a major focus (only this one is about the pursuit of getting pregnant before time runs out). I’m going to skip it and just “Knocked Up” or “Juno” instead.
“Mongol”
For those of you history buffs out there, enjoy this film festival favorite about the life of Ghengis Khan. It may make you feel better about yourself, especially if you get caught walking out of “Miss Conception.”
“The Promotion”
Sleeper hit comedy gold sitting here. And you’ll know that if you save your “want to see the ‘Zohan’ flick” money and check this out too. It may have a similar plot to “Employee of the Month,” but by lacking Dane Cook, Jessica Simpson and Dax Shepard, it’s already a better film.
“You Don’t Mess with the Zohan”
Here’s your Adam Sandler fix, stop shaking. The good news? It’s a straight-up comedy, no Drew Barrymore or Kevin James “everyman” movie that happens to be marginally funny. Bad news? Sandler is playing an odd character, which sometimes works (“Waterboy”) and sometimes doesn’t (“Little Nicky”).
