EAT MY SHORTS!

By Film Threat Staff | April 3, 2003

Comedia, the Just For Laughs Film Festival, part of Just For Laughs the Montreal International Comedy Festival, will roll out the seventh edition of the world’s premiere showcase for top, innovative short comedy films, Eat My Shorts! from July 10 – 20, 2003 in Montreal.
“The Spirit of Christmas”, the animated short that launched “South Park” on Comedy Central debuted at the Festival and the short film “True” became what we know as the Budweiser “Whassup?!” series. Filmmaker Greg Lawrence had his animated series “Kevin Spencer” picked up by NBC’s “Saturday Night Live”. Two of the shorts featured at the Festival, “Redux Riding Hood” and “Rejected”, were nominated for Academy Awards in 1997 and 2001, and the 2001 Academy-Award winning Pixar hit “For The Birds” was shown at every screening of the film “Monsters, Inc.”
Basically, you can go from nobody, to making Budweiser commercials, animating talking turds, or creating the opening entertainment to Pixar films. This is your big chance!
Eat My Shorts! is accepting submissions right now. Deadline is April 30th, and there is no submission fee. Get those films in.
