EARLY TRENT HARRIS FILMS IN HOUSTON

By Film Threat Staff | December 15, 2000

Houston’s Aurora Picture Show, in conjunction with the Rice University Media Center, will present the Houston premiere of cult filmmaker Trent Harris’ “Beaver Trilogy” on [ Saturday, December 16th ] at [ 7:30 and 9:30 PM ] , and again on [ Sunday, December 17th ] at [ 7 and 9PM ] . The films will screen at the Rice Media Center on [ University Blvd at Stockton Drive, Entrance #8 ] .
Harris’ “Beaver Trilogy” films, which feature then-newcomers Crispin Glover and Sean Penn, were inspired by a chance encounter with a strange man who insisted on doing celebrity impersonations for the filmmaker — John Wayne, Barry Manilow and even Sly Stallone got the treatment. The man hoped to win a spot on television, though, with his dead-accurate Olivia Newton John impersonation and song extravaganza.
