DR. HORROR GETS EROTIC

By Film Threat Staff | September 26, 2003

The hilarious and completely out there “Dr. Horror’s Erotic House of Idiots” is premiering at the Leonard Nimoy Thalia Theater in New York City on October 7, 2003 at 8:00 PM and tickets are on sale now!
The “How the West Was Won” of B-Movies, writer/director Paul Scrabo (brainchild behind the invaluable “Front Row” internet television show) crammed his endlessly inventive send-up of B-Movies with nearly every independent “Outsider Cinema” actor working today. Starring Debbie Rochon (“Bog Creatures”), Trent Haaga (“Terror Firmer”), Michael R. Thomas (“Saturday Night Live”), John “The Cool Ghoul” Zacherle, Brinke Stevens (“Delta Delta Die”), Barbara Joyce (“Satan’s Sorority”), Jasi Cotton Lanier (“Were-Grrl”), Amy Lynn Best (“Severe Injuries”), Marina Morgan (“Generation Ax”), Tina Krause (“Phone Tag”), Conrad Brooks (“Plan 9 From Outer Space”) and countless others. It’s partially an anthology, partially a musical, and an affectionate and exhaustive parody of movies that are almost parodies in and of themselves.
According to the symphonyspace.org website: “Paul Scrabo hammers the last nail into the erotic horror coffin with a film that break every low-budget B-movie rule. No nudity. No gore. No bodily-function jokes. No “needle-dropped” rock music soundtrack. Horror film legend Debbie Rochon gives the comedic performance of her career in a film featuring clever parodies of bad B-movies. The huge cast includes the Cool Ghoul himself, Zacherley. The first “B-Movie with EROTIC in the title” that may have actual charm.”
As an added bit of humanitarianism, proceeds from the premiere benefits The Actors Fund, proving that Paul likes to give back to as many communities as he can.
