DO WE REALLY NEED TO EXPLORE JASON VOORHEES ANY FURTHER?

By Mark Bell | February 15, 2006

Why do we need a Jason Voorhee’s origin story? Don’t we know it all? I mean, what are we missing? Jason’s “special,” he drowns due to camp counselor negligence, his distraught mother goes on a rampage revenge killing, and then he rises from the dead to get revenge on those that killed her (and any other campers in the area). Then it just gets weird, with trips to Hell, Manhattan and even space. They even just tackled the origin in the Freddy vs. Jason mash-up a couple years ago so… why do we need to do it again?

And let’s say there’s a good reason for re-doing the origin… why does Michael Bay have to direct it? Not enough slow-motion and explosions in the originals? I can’t wait for the highway chase with Jason on motorcycle…

Someone, please explain to me: WHY!?! Drop me a comment here or join the same discussion over at Back Talk.
