CLASSIC PASTALAND HORROR MARATHON AT TWO BOOTS

Celebrate the dark heart of Halloween at New York’s number one destination for horror, gore and more: the TWO BOOTS PIONEER THEATER! On Saturday, October 30, the Pioneer hosts an all-night marathon of classic Italian horror films showcasing the very best of this blood-n-bodiceripping genre! Costumes are encouraged and prizes will be given in such categories as: Most Inappropriate, Most Disgusting, Most Frightening, and of course, Most Italian. “Blood” and bagels will be served on Sunday morning to the surviving cineastes. The first show starts at 7:00 pm.

DEMONS (1985) dir. Lamberto Bava
Several people are invited to join the opening of a new movie theatre. As the horror film shown to the guests gets more and more violent, the people start to transform one by one into bloodthirsty demons. The remaining guests begin the desperate battle for their lives.

GATES OF HELL (1980) dir. Lucio Fulci
In the small New England town of Dunwich, a priest commits suicide by hanging himself in the church cemetary which somehow opens the gates of hell allowing the dead to rise. Peter, a New York City reporter, teams up with a young psychic, named Mary, to travel to the town where they team up with another couple, psychiatrist Jerry and patient Sandra, to find a way to close the gates before All Saints Day or the dead all over the world will rise up and kill the living.

A woman and her lover murder her husband, a doctor. Soon, however, strange things start happening, and they wonder if they really killed him, or if he is coming back from the dead to haunt them.

A psychic who can read minds picks up the thoughts of a murderer in the audience and soon becomes a victim. An English pianist gets involved in solving the murders, but finds many of his avenues of inquiry cut off by new murders, and he begins to wonder how the murderer can track his movements so closely.

The vengeful spirit of a man who was murdered by his wife and her lover takes possession of his son after they move back into the family home.

BURIAL GROUND (1980) dir. Andrea Bianchi
A professor opens a crypt and reanimates rotten zombies. The zombies attack a party of jet-setters in a villa nearby…
