CASABLANCA

By Chris Gore | February 5, 2002

It’s visually beautiful, creepy, surreal, nothing makes sense and I like it! Nadine has to perform and her guests are waiting for her to take the stage. But she has to make some food and almost adds rat poison. When she avoids adding the poison – she becomes a hero. Then, Miss Perfect arrives and everyone loves her. Then everybody dies. Like a dream, the story shifts from one disconnected conflict to the next without warning, but somehow it all works.
Director Mike Sænz has created a Lynchian dream world worth a visit.
