BO DIDDLEY WILL BE MISSED

By Jeremy Knox | June 2, 2008

I hate to follow a funny, jokey thread with such a gloomy one, but Bo Diddley died today at the age of 79. He was without question one of the greatest Rock N’ Rollers to ever walk the Earth. I easily consider him superior to guys like Chuck Berry and Little Richard. Yeah, they did their share of great music, but nothing with quite the bite of “Who do you love?” or “I’m a Man.” Those tunes, and other Diddley compositions, were way ahead of their time and sound modern even today. Diddley was such a badass in an era when being clean cut was the only way to get ahead in music. You had to love his balls. He was fearless and original, and for that he’ll join the immortals.
