By Film Threat Staff | March 1, 2005

The CineVegas Film Festival announced that Dennis Hopper will serve again as Chairman of the Creative Advisory Board in 2005. In addition, they have begun accepting film submissions, and will continue to do so through April 8, 2005.

“We are so pleased to have Dennis continue to be an influential part of CineVegas,” said Robin Greenspun, CineVegas President. “He is passionately committed to independent cinema and continues to leverage his position in the entertainment community to help fellow actors and filmmakers.”

Hopper was honored in 2003 with CineVegas’ prestigious Marquee Award for his lifetime achievements in the film industry. Since then, he has been dedicated to growing the national presence of the festival.

“I’ve attended festivals all over the world, but nothing can compare to CineVegas,” said Hopper. “I was so inspired by the festival’s commitment to filmmakers and bringing undiscovered talent to the entertainment capital of the world that I am thrilled to be involved. We put together a terrific board of individuals who are highly respected in the film community and we look forward to continuing to bring the festival to the next level of recognition.”

Trevor Groth, Director of Programming along with Mike Plante, Programmer, has made the official call for entries. The deadline is April 8.
