Do you ever get the sense that some movies get made solely on the pitch? Award This! WTF nominee Velocipastor‘s pitch is a pastor, who in werewolf-type fashion, turns into a velociraptor. Now guess the crazy plot of Patrick Penta’s Subferatu? Here’s a hint. Take the two elements of a sub-marine and Nosferatu, and you get vampires on a sub.

Subferatu now goes several steps further from being a mere horror and wartime thriller. The film takes place in a World War II German U-Boat. Hitler has just been killed, and submarine commander (Martyn G. Krouse) says he’s going to relinquish the boat to the Americans in New York harbor, unaware that there’s some sinister cargo on board.

“…they rescue the survivors, but like the cargo, this is something sinister about this group…”

En route to New York, the submarine crew comes across a strange boat sinking with survivors on board. On orders by the ship’s commander, they rescue the survivors, but like the cargo, this is something sinister about this group of strangers as well.

Well, not so much sinister as it is strange. Subferatu takes on time travel as the group of strangers comes from the present. It’s led by the confident Ash-Williams-type baffoon in yacht Captain Gavin McCloud (Mike Dooly). He was simply taking a group of passengers on…you guessed it..a three-hour tour.
