But let’s get back to Skin Creepers. Say what you want to about the characters of the Jenson Brothers, but they are committed. When their star turns out to be possessed, they try everything they can to finish their porno. Where most people would have run from the set screaming, they are trying to keep their production on schedule. It’s admirable in a way. Nicolas Artajo and Nicholas Szent are the real bright spot of this film, giving strong performances. Given better material, they really could have shined. Also of note is Thomas Schmuckert who gives the pimp character of LeaderKalle the right amount of menace and charm to make me wish the movie was about him.

Like a lot of modern indie horror, it starts with a promising premise then just kind of devolves. Unfortunately, a good premise isn’t enough to carry a film if you don’t know how to end it. The final act somehow drags on and suffers from a lack of focus at the same time. But all in all, I am pretty sure you’re not supposed to take Skin Creepers that seriously. It seems like the kind of film you put on with a bunch of drunken friends and don’t pay much attention to.
