Seeing Green

However, this short, unlike the sugary goodness present on-screen (which is stunningly shot by Mark Evans, and edited together by the razor-sharp Dana Gasparine), it is a little half-baked. If anything, it feels more like a proof-of-concept than a fully-fledged short subject, especially with Lindsay’s involvement being the weakest element of the plot. She doesn’t even come across as much of a character, more of a plot mechanic to ensure we get the poisoned cake in Tabby, not much else. The friends are somewhat cheaply written at moments, impressing only as easy archetypes for us to have strong contrasts between our protagonist and her supports. When the bridezilla comes out, they become almost wholly passive characters, and nothing really progresses in either the story or its underlying themes.

“…enjoyable and original take on an overworn subject…”

While there are a handful of moments where the plotting and character development falls through, Seeing Green is still an enjoyable and original take on an overworn subject, even though it somehow manages to bite off far less than it has the capacity to chew.
