Power of Grayskull has the most in-depth interviews you can find anywhere about the franchise. The interviews include the creators of the toy line, former Mattel executives, former voice actors from the cartoon, as well as stars of the live-action film, Dolph Lundren, Frank Langella, and Anthony De Longis. Along with the interviews you get to see concept art, concept designs, prototypes of everything He-Man related, even one of the first toys that was made with parts from a recycled Boba Fett action figure.
“…goes way beyond the toys. Even going as far as discussing its failures and attempted reboots.”
There are many documentaries about beloved pop-culture franchises and frenzies. Sometimes a franchise is so beloved that you might find several different documentaries covering the franchise. While most do a fairly decent job in bringing back the nostalgia of your childhood of sitting on the floor in front of the television watching your favorite cartoon, playing with the toy line that’s attached to it, Power of Grayskull is definitely a documentary that has the power to stand above the rest. As a person that loves pop culture and the nostalgia that comes along with it, this is one of the best pop culture documentaries that I have ever seen. Whether you are a fan of the toys, cartoon, film, or all of the above, it will leave you satisfied. You literally can not ask for anything more. Seriously.
