In Bulent Ozlarusso’s Jisu Han, no one can understand you when you’re drunk, and it’s even more difficult to hit a drunken target.

Jisu Han (Hwain Cho) is drinking alone in a nightclub, and she’s drinking because of a broken heart. No knight in shining armor is coming to rescue her. Her biggest problem is that the bartender won’t give her another drink… partly because he doesn’t understand Korean.

As Jisu passes out, Master Chan’s henchman, Ming (Tom Nguyen), shows up looking for trouble, backed by his goons (Dmitrijs Sidlovskis and Gibson Ariza). After all this time, he’s finally come face-to-face with Jisu Han. Ming makes it clear that Master Chan is displeased and that Jisu deserves to be cut like a dog. Still, no one can understand Jisu’s Korean, and her time is running short. Ming’s patience is running out fast. When it finally snaps, the fight is on.

Ming holds Jisu Han’s chin as she smiles under purple nightclub lights in Jisu Han.

“Her biggest problem is that the bartender won’t give her another drink… partly because he doesn’t understand Korean.”

Running a brisk five minutes, Bulent Ozlarusso’s action short Jisu Han gets right to the point. All Jisu wants is her knight in shining armor, but instead, she gets a chance to show off her Drunken Master skills, leaving her English in the dust. With only a brief setup, Jisu Han is all about the fight choreography and shots, both staged for maximum impact, as Jisu takes down the mini-boss in due time. Good fight, and I want more.

I also have to mention the killer set, perfect for fighting and drinking. Then there’s the even deadlier soundtrack. Get headphones for that immersive experience.
