SCREENINGS ON THIRD THURSDAYS

By Film Threat Staff | August 18, 2005

The New Art Center presents the premiere of Third Thursdays event series featuring a screening of “Rivers & Tides: Andy Goldsworthy Working With Time.” The critically acclaimed film by German filmmaker Thomas Riedelsheimer is an extraordinary journey into the world and mind of Scottish sculptor Andy Goldsworthy. A land-artist who uses materials from nature to make site-specific works, Goldsworthy allows the elements to have the last say in his beautiful creations, as his ingenious patterns of wood, leaves, stone and ice move and erode over time.

Third Thursdays is a new program of the New Art Center which features a variety of film screenings, concerts and educational programming on the Third Thursday of every month, September 2005 – June 2006. The New Art Center galleries, featuring the opening of 1939: The Missing Year, will open at 6:00 p.m. for Third Thursday patrons. Beer, wine and other refreshments will be available for purchase.
